Opened on: 30 July 1849
This station was opened as a stop on the London Bridge to Woolwich line. It became a junction on the 1 January 1857 when the line to Beckenham Junction was opened. The Sidcup line was added 1 September 1866 and later in 1895 the Bexleyheath line was added.
Lewisham when opened was named Lewisham Junction until 1929.
