Oyster Pre Pay capping starts lower travel costs for many 27-02-2005 London Transport Users’ Committee (LTUC) Press Release
The London Transport Users’ Committee (LTUC) today gave a warm welcome to the introduction by Transport for London (TfL) of capping on their Pre Pay Oyster cards from today (Sunday 27th February). A further advance in smart card ticketing in London.
Brian Cooke, Chair of LTUC explained “Ever since TfL introduced Pre Pay Oyster we have urged them to introduce a price cap, this means that passengers will never pay more than the price of a one day travelcard or one day bus pass, therefore users of TfL services will no longer have to plan in advance what journeys they are making to ensure they pay the lowest fare”.
Brian Cooke continued “While this only applies to Transport for London services, Tube, Bus, DLR, Croydon Tramlink, it is a great step forward. We hope that in the near future it will also apply to National Rail journeys in Greater London”.
